Hi sorry about that forgot to edit the more info tab about this please try this installation order:
1. Install the game
2. Install the language pack as desired
3. Install the patch (Optional)
4. play.

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Game of the Year is definitely one of the best games of my favorite. Also great kudos to FreeGoGPCGames website. This website is so great, I never came across a website which is as wonderful as this. Can finally leave a comment now, which is a good news. There was a time I remember was like 2 months ago, when this website I think was broke or attacked by some dickhead. Everywhere I click will auto-redirect to advertisements and all download links no longer work. It’s great this website recovers from that. Otherwise I’ll lose a wonderful game resource which will be a big big pity.

– I install the game and Launch the Game
– It’s ok with 1.31 version
– Quit the game and install 1.32 patch in folder but it’s not work, it’s say : “Error modifying c:\gog games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\content\metadata.store”
– So I try to play with 1.31 version but when I clicked to The Witcher III icon in desktop, it’s lead me to the C: folder, and I can’t find the witcher III icon in GOG folder.

Please make sure to run the setup as administrator mostly if you are installing it on Drive C.
What would you want to do right now is uninstall the game and reinstall it with administrator rights.

When i ran the game it delete “metadata.store” and recreate it,
the game goes to menu with version 1.32 and different background menu??
btw i am a new player so i will play with this state and report back if the game crash later..

There is no .exe file to start the game. Only a shortcut that doesnt work.

Hello. V1.31 Witcher III GOTY edition lags extremely bad during playing. I’m on Windows 10 with Intel i7 processor and 16 Gb Ram. It lags so bad that I’m unable to play. There is intermittent lagging when I gallop the horse or I run or when there’s combat. Maybe it’s something CDPR built into the GOG version of the game? All my drivers and Redistributable is updates and installed. Can’t play it like this. It’s a big shame coz I really wanted to play this.

Hi Kurbb, Can you please tell us more about the problem? Did you successfully installed the game? We tested this and it worked with no problem 🙁
Had the same issue as Kurbb but found the solution. Installed it and played for a few hours with no problems. But after restarting the computer the shortcut had changed to only open GOG Galaxy, and I could not find any .exe either at first. The .exe is hidden in: C:\GOG Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\x64 You can use that to create a new shortcut that works. Hope it helps someone else:)
