About this game:
After the war, Calvard is enjoying unprecedented economic prosperity. However, the public grows uncertain as the number of immigrants increases and political reform runs rampant. Follow Van, a young man and local spriggan, on a unique request that will prove more than he bargained for. Will the nation fall into chaos?
The AT (Action Time) battle command has been completely revamped transitioning seamlessly from field battles to turn-based combat. The sixth-generation tactical orbment Xipha offers a revolutionary combat experience unique to this iteration of the Trails series!
In addition, the Topic System allows players to gain an advantage in battle by using conversation topics as bargaining chips. These topics can be obtained by interacting with other characters throughout the city. The game also features the Alignment system, which allows players to change their character’s three unique attributes and influence characteristics such as their status, the forces they fight with (or against), and even how the plot unfolds.

During installation i got error messages like stack overflow – runtime – out of range and internal (unspecified) errors .However, the installation was successful, but at launch, the mouse cursor appears with a black screen and then crashes. Also got an error message from the program itself. I use Windows 11. No avail to run this game on my x64 system whatsoever, so I did an uninstall. Hopefully the second version in the series will work, so i am downloading it now.

This one has a much more “science fiction” feel to it – your orbments are more like tablets/cellphones, they have built in AIs, all of the technology (cars, computers and stuff) has a more “real” look to it, instead of looking like magitech…
It feels more like Star Ocean – high tech mixed with low tech. You can also swap between turn-based and real-time combat, which can make fighting bother easier and faster.

Yo Admin! Could you tell me if this version 1.3.5 GOG (which is the same 1.3.5 as the one on Steam) has the same graphic updates that they released on Steam? I know this is a stupid question, but since this is a GOG version, I’m not sure if it has the same features as the latest Steam version. Btw, thanks for the download!

For the curious,
it is basically a visual novel with rpg elements. . . just more of an jrpg with visual novel elements. It perhaps would have been better the other way around. Many aspects of it feel unnecessary and slow. . .. like you’re playing a walking or exploring simulator without much direction or incentive as to why. This is likely to enhance the “detective” elements of the game but it just makes it feel like a chore to progress the story.
to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. . . it has a lot of interesting elements to it but they feel misplaced in this title. It may feel like you’re starting the story in the middle but there is no satisfying reference point to the beginning. “Soulless” cash grab comes to mind because while many things feel half-done, there is an overwhelming sense they believed it was finished.
But for the completionists of the series, it likely matters not.. it’s not the first bad game in the franchise but it’s definitely in the running for being one of the worst. It’s like a much older game with better graphics but falls short on the things it should be.. it’s low to middling at best. And, I would be hard pressed to say it’s anywhere near mid, really. Again, many interesting elements but it’s a mess in execution… poor game planners and directors.
