About this game

FixFox overview

FixFox is a healthy sci-fi adventure game. Play as Vix, an unfortunate space mechanic who crashes on a mysterious planet where tools are forbidden. Accompanied by her trusty toolbox, Tin, Vix travels across the planet Caramel, discovering hidden stashes left behind by pirates, repairing friendly household appliances and sampling delicious local delicacies.

Traverse the planet on a peppy scooter, clear trails with a hefty Powerloader, or simply embark on a peaceful journey on foot to see all the sights on Karamel. Hum along to catchy chiptunes as you discover secret locations, test your noggin on whimsical puzzles, and finally settle down for the night next to a warm campfire looking out at the stars.

Repair machines with uplifting personalities like a passionate lawn mower using unconventional tools like coins, bandages, glowing bananas… anything, really. Live out a space mechanic’s dream by building and piloting giant mechs to help the local robots with their particular problems.

Fixing things can be difficult, but ending the day with a leisurely meal always makes it better. Enjoy delicious meals that the planetary people have to offer, such as: B. Homemade soups, warm rice bowls and absolutely non-expired pudding. Finding a friend at a meal with hospitable robots can provide a crucial clue to solving your next quest.

Beginning with a humble beacon repair job, Vix quickly finds herself involved in more than her own story. An estranged brother searching for his long-lost sibling, specialized artificial intelligences working through past trauma, and an ongoing feud between two planetary factions are just a few of the tangled mysteries to be unpicked and solved.

In order to survive the global post-climate change catastrophe of the cold earth atmosphere, humanity has genetically engineered to take on animal characteristics. The fur obtained from genetic splicing helps humanity cope with the frigid weather, and the ability to hibernate allows humans to survive long interstellar flights. The story of FixFox takes place in this furry future.

In the early 90’s my parents brought home our very first computer – the Polish copy of the Atari 8-bit. I learned how to program in Basic from an old manual. From that moment on, I wanted to devote my life to developing games.

Fast forward to 2012, after visiting the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima and witnessing the aftermath of violence and hatred, I made a personal vow never to play or create violent games. Instead, I focus on making games that encourage kindness and friendship.

With the experience of Game Jams and the heartwarming support of my friends and family, the dream of making this game has become a reality.
