The game uses full-motion video with live actors to tell a story of a writer and her husband who move into a mansion haunted by a dark past. Players explore the mansion, solve puzzles, and uncover a narrative involving supernatural elements and psychological terror. The game’s mature content, including graphic violence and disturbing themes, generated controversy upon release for pushing boundaries in interactive storytelling.
