Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein is a top-down tactical strategy game that shows the last blitzkrieg held during the Second World War. Attention is focused on the psychological state of the soldiers, which requires more care for each soldier individually. Each battle can be the last for the guys, which is why their nerves are on edge. Under severe stress, performance drops and the unit becomes less efficient. It is necessary to take this into account and build tactics based on the effects that are imposed on the warrior. The developers focused on realism, adding more than 70 scenarios of operations that took place in the winter of 1944. Each of them has special initial conditions that determine the difficulty of the battle, for example, the number of units under control, the location on the map, the deployment of the enemy, and so on. Any oochange in the camp of the enemy affects the further strategy. In order to rebuild his army, the gamer can take advantage of a tactical pause and give orders based on the pattern on the battlefield.
