Kozue's Strange Journey 2 follows Sayuri Shirasagi and her friends as they investigate a new paranormal mystery in an adventure RPG setting. Players explore labyrinths using climbing and lockpicking mechanics while negotiating with monsters to avoid or gain advantages in combat. Turn-based battles reward identifying and exploiting enemy weaknesses for strategic success. Outside combat, players build social stats and develop relationships with townsfolk to unlock new jobs and receive combat boosts. Player choices throughout the narrative directly influence the story's outcome and multiple possible endings.
