THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 UNLIMITED MATCH is a fully upgraded version of the classic 2D fighter, bringing together the series' largest character roster of 66 fighters. Set in the NESTS Chronicles, it delivers reworked visuals and sound, refined balance, new moves, and multiple modes for practice and endless battles.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 was released in 2002 and is still highly praised around the world to this day thanks to its return to the Series’ ”3-on-3 battle” flagship system, the numerous fan favorite characters returning in this 2002 year iteration, and its game balance. Thanks to the introduction of the “Quick Evasion” and “Max Activation” game mechanics, battles get even more exciting and intense.
KOF 2002 continues the series of THE KING OF FIGHTERS fighting games. The combat system with four heroes and strikers used in the previous three parts has been completely removed from the game. Instead, KOF 2002 returned a team of three fighters, as well as the Advanced system that was present in The King of Fighters ’97 and The King of Fighters ’98.
