The protagonist of The Great Perhaps is an astronaut who has spent more than 100 years in suspended animation. Upon returning to Earth, he finds her in a state of post-apocalypse and devastation. He finds a magic lantern that allows him to travel back in time. The gameplay is to use the lantern to escape from enemies or overcome obstacles. For example, in this reality, the passage is littered with various debris. Using the lantern, the hero makes a leap into the past, where he can safely bypass the blockage, since it simply does not exist in another time stream.
