The Sinking City is an open-world investigation adventure where players control private investigator Charles Reed as he explores the half-submerged city of Oakmont, plagued by supernatural forces driving inhabitants to madness. Using detective abilities, players gather and analyze clues to solve cases with multiple possible approaches and endings, while managing Reed's mental health. Travel is possible on foot, by boat, or in a diving suit, and combat involves 1920s weapons against nightmarish creatures. The game includes a crafting system for ammunition and consumables, presented from a third-person perspective in a single-player campaign.
