STORY:
You are awake now.
I know you can’t speak. You will, soon.
The Seeker has saved you for this quest.

You are in Malenthia, a land once whole and strong. The Second Era ended with the death of Queen Kulviete, many years ago. She and her family succumbed, and now the lands of Malenthia begin to crumble under the encroachment of fiends, beings of unknown origin that devour all in their path. Rumors and unrest grow into endless dispute under the spiteful gaze of one called Damaskia.

I know you have no memory of this. It must be this way. As the only human amid Creature-Kind, you must learn as you travel across Malenthia. Yours is the power of gods and demons alike, to use reason to put to rest the all-consuming chaos. Within this puzzle of scattered pieces, everything can be connected, if you can bring your mind and heart to bear.

You have questions. I am sure… But will you find what you seek?

  1. Game seems to be bugged. Not FreeGOG’s fault in anyway; the game is just trash.

During Act 3, after completing the desert portion, you return to camp. The next day, the World Map opens (as it should, so you can choose where to go next) but no icon appears for you to choose. No icon to click, no (apparent) ability to move the map around to see if an icon might be hiding offscreen, and no option in the setting menu to check your key bindings to see if there is one for the map (I ended up pressing every button on my mouse and keyboard, to no avail). So, I’m stuck on the World Map, unable to do literally anything (you can’t even open a game menu to reload/shut down etc) leaving me stranded with no option other than force close the game.

When added to the fact that the game relies on RNG dice rolls to make decisions, but you inevitably fail those rolls far more often than you statistically ought to, coupled further with the fact that you cannot save whenever you want, so reloads force you to repeat the same scenes over and over again, and an interface that is so basic it’s almost useless, leaves this game anywhere from frustrating to downright unplayable.

I recommend no one download this, it isn’t worth the effort. 2/10

  2. For anyone curious about the game…

the game runs slow no matter how ‘good’ your hardware is…

if you want to reload a save spot, you have to completely exit the game.

there’s periodic game breaking bugs but most tend to sort themselves out with a reload.

There’s some inane spelling errors or using the spelling of words that sound similar to the what they actually intended.

The story is written like the kind of fanfic you’d expect from a tween or young teenager, along with some stylized art choices and attempts to make it more lore heavy that are cringe inducing and it seems overall geared to furry subculture… and lacking any real depth on that level.

Overall, it’s playable, easy to get pulled in for a day or two. Albeit, the time spent is largely due to the inability to reload saves immediately, the sporadic freezing and the game running slow to begin with. There’s elements of it that would be great, otherwise.

It’s better than many visual novels in a sea of visual novels, but it’s still a visual novel in the end… I don’t believe they’ve worked out the stats to dice mechanics yet.
