Going Medieval is a colony simulation game where players guide a group of survivors in a post-plague wilderness, building a fortified settlement above and below ground. Settlers have unique skills, personalities, and needs, requiring management of food, shelter, health, and morale. Players gather resources, construct buildings, craft weapons and armor, research technologies, and defend against raids from raiders, wild animals, and other threats. Terraforming tools allow reshaping the landscape to support expansion and defense, with the goal of growing a small group into a thriving medieval stronghold.
